One of my favorite projects happens to be a very personal one. My husband and I decided to send out a gender baby announcement card. We found out in the fall we were having a little girl. As cliche as pumpkins are used with baby announcements, it was fitting for the season and I knew I could artfully redeem them. The first pumpkin, purchased from Trader Joe’s, ended up being too small for the details I was carving. Round two had me waddling to Home Depot and pumpkin diving into the gigantic bin, pulling out pumpkin after pumpkin until I found the right one. Below is the finished product, mailed in square craft envelopes and butterfly stamps. Note to self: square envelopes are significantly more expensive to mail!
